Lower right [referring to 1796-1800]: 'During these five years the Aurora Borealis ceased to make their appearance commenced again upon the 8 Decr. 1800'. Below: 'Spring in this country I have found at 47 & 48 degrees when the cold of the atmosphere was at 10 degrees & much the same in hottest summers. Swallows make their general appearance the last days of April. This year 3 or 4th May. ' |
