DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at Horsted Place, at Little Horsted, near Uckfield, Sussex. There are three sets of data: for 1841, the months of January, March and December. For 1842, the months of March-May, July-August and November are recorded. The months of March and October of 1843 are present. Barometer readings were taken initially at 8.00am, 3.00pm and 8.00pm for January 1841, but from then onward, instruments are read at 9.00am and 3.00pm only. With temperature highs and lows, and rain gauge readings taken at 9.00am.

The cover page has a later inscription: '115 Horsted Place 1841-1843'.

Horsted Place, Sussex, was the residence of Henrietta Sarah [Markham] Law, widow of Ewan Law. She is listed in the 1841 census, with her daughter, also Henrietta Sarah.
