DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at London, Ontario. Columns for month, day and time of observations, usually at 9.00am, 2.00pm and 9.00pm, thermometer and barometer readings, wind direction and general remarks.

The identification of London, Ontario, in then-Upper Canada, is based upon the concluding entry of the journal [p.64]: 'The winter of the disturbance at Navy Island, no journal kept', referring to the rebellion led by William Lyon Mackenzie, and his seizure of the island on the Niagara River, Ontario.

Headed [p.1]: 'Meteorological Journal kept at London &c &c'. Indistinctly stamped as received in 1839 [by the Colonial Office?].
