DescriptionDaily register of tidal observations made at Pointe de Galle, Ceylon [Sri Lanka]. Columns for month and day of observation, wind direction, weather remarks, time of low water, time of high water, and difference in highand low water marks. A column for wind force is added from 1 September 1839. A note [p.3] states that there were no observations talen between 16 February and 21 March.

Headed [p.1]: 'Tide Register Point de Galle Ceylon from January 1st to June 30th 1839', and again [p.13] '...from July 1st to December 31st 1839'. Signed [p.9 and p.21] illegibly, possibly George Hinde Cripps, a government agent resident at Galle. Rear cover is endorsed: 'Tidal Register Point de Galle Ceylon January to June 1839'.
