Commencing: 'Memoranda of the State of the Thermometer &c. taken at Sidmouth Devonshire by White Melville. The Thermr. was graduated according to Fahrenheit's scale & hung outside of a Window facing a little West of North'. [by White Melville - struck through].

Stamped lower right, p.3.: 'Soc. Reg. Lond. ex dono Auctoris', and with a note in ink: 'June 26 1800'.
