Headed: 'Meteorological Journal kept at Swan River Lat[itud]e. 53 degrees 22' North, Long[itud]e. 100 degrees 46' West from Green[wich] a Spirit Fahrenheits Thermometer made by Dollond 8 inches Long - hung in the Shade facing the North 5 feet above the Ground - by Peter Fidler.'

Royal Society stamp [p.1] and inscription: 'Presented by Joseph Colen Esqr. Apr. 27. 1809.' Numbered in ink [p.4] '14' and with a typed paper label: 'Swan River Manitoba. 1807-8. ? Fidler.'
