DescriptionTable of daily observations taken at 8.00am on board HMS Hyacinth. Columns record: day of the month; barometer; temperature of mercury, air and wet bulb thermometer; wind direction and force; and aspect of the sky.

The vessel was stationed on the Canton River [the Pearl River, or Zhujiang] with its shifting locations noted under the column 'Aspect of the Sky'. 1-4 January Macao Roads; 5-10 January Capsing Mun; 11-21 January Tong-Koo Bay; 22 January-3 February Tong-Koo Bay off Lung-eet; 4-9 February Macao Roads; 10-20 February Lantao Passage; 21 February Tong-koo Bay; 22-23 February Macao Roads; 24-27 February Tong-koo Bay; off Lintin; 1-12 March off Lung-eet; 13-31 March off Chuen-pee.
