Headed on the covering page [p.1]: 'Luneville, Lotharingia 1725'. With a covering note [p.2] commencing: 'Octo mensum anni 1725 decursu, eodam thermometro, quo, an. 1724 ussimus, cujis deliniationem in primo Diaro ad Clarissimum Halleyum transmissimus verum hoc anno 1726 multo accuraiori thermometro...' [During the eight months of the year 1725, we carried on the information which we transmitted in the first diary to the famous Halley, using the same thermometer from 1724; but in this year of 1726 we used a much more accurate thermometer...]. The text notes the contribution of Dr. [Colin] MacLaurin.
