Headed [p.1]: 'Daily Thermometrical observations at Cape Palmas from May 1841'. In a different hand: 'No. 287 Recd. 25 Novr 1841...communicated by Captn. Beaufort R.N. F.R.S. Hydrographer to The Admiralty'. Similarly endorsed at p.4.

The paper is noted as having been read at the Royal Society on 25 November 1841: 'Daily thermometrical observations at Cape Palmas, for May 1841', Abstracts of papers printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London, v.4 (1843), p.331.
