DescriptionTables of daily meteorological observations kept on board the frigate HMS Blonde on a voyage from Chile, around Cape Horn, and across the Atlantic Ocean to England. With columns for the date, the vessel's latitude and longitude, wind direction, with barometer and thermometer readings made at 8.00am, noon and 8.00pm each day. These are followed by journal-style entries of commentary on the weather.

The account begins with severe weather at the Port of Valparaiso, Chile [p.4], from where the ship set sail on 26 October 1836. HMS Blonde was at anchor at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 7-10 December 1836 [p.11] before reaching Spithead, England on 23 January, a journey stated to be of 89 days from Valparaiso.
