Title | Letter from [Franz Arthur Friedrich] Schuster, Manchester, to Professor [George Gabriel] Stokes |
Creator | Schuster; Sir; Arthur (1851-1934); British physicist |
Date | 14 February 1885 |
Description | Schuster informs Stokes of a total eclipse to occur in 1885 in New Zealand. Remarks it is too late to send an expedition, however there are 'scientific men' in New Zealand who may be willing to take observations of the eclipse. Schuster suggests if a Committee is appointed for the 1887 eclipse by the Council of the Royal Society, an objective of which should be 'to draw up a list of suggestions of simple observations'. |
