Description | Dawson sends a report adopted by the Royal Society of Canada which contains suggestions relating 'to the manner of effecting the Imperial Geological Union proposed'. Discusses the possibility of the proposed Geological Union to 'form part of a General Scientific Federation of the empire'. Refers to convening a conference 'under the auspices of the Royal Society' at which representatives of the geological survey and Societies pursuing geological work would be invited. Discussion regarding the adoption of a consitution and a list of provisions it would include.
Includes a typescript copy of a 'Report of a Committee of the Council of the Royal Society of Canada on proposals for an imperial union of geological surveys and societies' with an inscription denoting this was 'adopted by the Society May 25, 1887', consisting of one page. Regarding Dawson's letter to Stokes. |
