Description | Cunningham has been 'instructed' by [Edward] Ray Lankester to request from the Royal Society permission to borrow books from their library. Refers to the library at the Laboratory in Plymouth being 'entirely unfurnished with books', and therefore the reseacrch Cunningham is currently conducting cannot be carried out without access to 'geological classical works'. Cunningham's request is that the books be forwarded to him at the Laboratory by rail 'as they would be to an ordinary Fellow of the Royal Society'. |
