They include letters from Thomas Cartwright to Viscount Palmerston, as well as a 'note verbale' from the Swedish monarch regarding the establishment of an observatory. The latter is in French, and has an extent of five pages, with the last being on a separate sheet, labelled MC/3/145c.]
