DescriptionLord Rosebery acknowledges receipt of Foster's letter dated 16 July 1866, which informed him of his election as a Fellow of The Royal Society. This was the first 'intimation' he had received of his election, though is aware it took place on 10 June. Rosebery intends to presents himself at the ealiest convenience for admission, but is apprehensive as he is due to leave England in October.
