DescriptionThe Government Grant Committee have been unable to grant the Kew Committe of the Royal Society their request of a grant for £500, for 'the expense of the proposed additions to the Kew Observatory'. The Kew Committee therefore reduce their request to £200 and propose to carry out one half of the 'projected additions'. The Kew Committe is able to contribute £200 themselves, and requests an application to the Society for 'a similar sum'.
