DescriptionInforms Stokes the rate of £300 a year for photographic star charts at the Cape was exhausted at the end of December 1886. Decision regarding the rate was suspended by the Goverment Grant Committee, until the Paris Conference, which has arrived at an 'unfavourable decision'. Gill refers to 'monetary responsibility', and applies for a grant of £150 from the Donation Fund of the Royal Society 'to cover the expenses of the two past half years'.
