Description'Sir, With reference ot Mr Godley's lettr of the 21st December 1886, I am directed by the Secretary of State for India in Council to forward herewith a box containing some of Colonel Herschel's papers which through an oversight was not sent at the time. I am to request that you will be so good as to have them placed with the papers already in the custody of the Society. I am Sir, your obedient servant, H Hill, Assistant Secretary, Revenue, Statistics and Commerce Department'.
