Description | Regarding 'proposed change in the time for beginning the astronomical day, as recommended by the recent International Meridian Conference at Washington'. The Council on Education requested the Committee 'named in the margin to advise them' on next steps [the committee referred to consists of Professor J C Adams, the Astronomer Royal, Sir F Evans, the Hydrographer of the Navy, General Strachey, Dr Hind, and Colonel Donnelly]. As a consequence of their recommendations, Donnelly sends a copy of the report of the Meridian Conference and to adopt those resolutions [enclosure not present]. Requests the Society's opinion on these resolutions before the American Government is informed. |
