DescriptionStokes informs Huxley that Captain Wharton said the Admiralty is 'desirous' that it should not seem they are creating obstacles to the 'suggested change' [proposed by the resolution of the Wahsington Conference 1884]. The Admiralty have left it to Huxley when to call a meeting and are in no rush. Wharton suggests Huxley should write to the Admiralty regarding the difficulty in calling a meeting, and suggests some time after the recess.
