[William] Ellis of Greenwich Observatory has examined the 'residual' [manuscripts]. Scott has forwarded a copy of Ellis's report to the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and enquires 'if that Society is prepared to receive the boxes and preserve them with their archives'.
