DescriptionEncloses correspondence with the Foreign Office regaridng an application for admission to the 'so-called' Kew Observatory, and refers to the actual locality of the observatory. Enclosed is a typescript copy of a letter from H Percy Anderson, Foreign Office, to the Director of the Royal Gardens, Kew, dated 24 September 1894, consisting of one page, requesting permission for Captain Platon from the Norweigian Navy 'to study matters connected with navigation'. Includes a typescript copy of Thiselton-Dyer's reply to Anderson, dated 29 September 1894, consisting on one page.
