DescriptionScott sends communication in regard to Admiral Makaroff's pamphlet and circular 'on the subject of marine meteorology'. Enclosed is a copy of a letter from Robert [Henry] Scott to Admiral Makaroff, dated 12 July 1894 acknowledging his pamphlet and informs him that it was presented ot the Meteorological Council, who recognise the importance of the interchange of information regarding oceanic meteorology, however are unable to adopt 'any international system for the discussion of observations' as suggested by Makaroff. Includes a letter from the Council of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society to the 'Director' of the Royal Society, informing they have taken an interest in Makaroff's [enclosed] pamphlet titled 'Respecting the necessity of an international agreement with regard to the publication of material, contained in naval meteorological journals'.
