Description | Donnelly has been directed by the Lords of the Committee of Council on Education to enclose a 'copy of a memorandum on the subject of a special loan exhibition of English furniture and figured silks manufactured in the 17th and 18th centuries'. Requests the Royal Society to loan 'specimens' and objects which fit the scope of the exhibition. Enclosed is a printed memorandum describing the scope of the exhibition to be held at Bethnal Green branch of the museum in 1896, and includes a list of objects of furniture, cabinet work and silks 'suggeted as suitable for this collection'. |
