DescriptionFlower encloses a letter from Dr Forsyth Major to be presented to the President and Council of the Royal Society [MC/16/347], with a request for authorisation to distribute the collection. Flower remarks on the specimens Major collected, and the increased expenses resulting in the political unrest of [Madagascar]. The funds given to Major from the Government Grant Committee have been 'expended' and he is now without resources to live on, while working on the scientific results of the expedition. The British Museum has also paif £111 for the transport of the collections from Madagascar.
