Enclosed is a typescript copy of a letter from Horace Tozer, Agent General of Queensland, to the Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office, dated 30 November 1903, consisting of one page, who sends the following corrspondence received from the Chief Secretary's Office, Brisbane regarding a medicine prepared by Mr Pastourel, of Mackay, Queensland which is said 'to act as a cure for the "sleeping sickness", prevalent in South Africa' and a case containing a 'mixture' should arrive in London 14 December.
Includes a typescript copy of a letter from F Pastourel, Mount Jukes, to Robert Philip, dated 3 August 1903, consisting of one page, informing he is sending a case containing 12 bottles for the 'sleeping disease', and is a 'great advantage in fever and in diabetis [sic] complaints'. Includes another typescript copy of a letter form F Pastourel, Mount Jukes, to Darlymple, dated 23 June 1903, consisting of one page, informing he has read about the 'sleeping diseases' and believes he has a mixture which should help.
Includes a copy of a typescript letter from E H Abell, for the Under Secretary, to the Chief Clerk, Agent General's Office, dated 5 October 1903, consisting of one page, informing they are enclosing copies of Pastourel's two letters, notes that testing the preparation is [urgent], and that 12 bottles have been shipped to the Colonial Office' |
