| Description | Reharding a telegram from Captain Greig concerning a centrifuge. [Robert William Frederick Harrison] informs that a centrifuge was sent to Greig by shipping agents on 10 February, and asks if this telegram means they should send out another. If so he requests instructions and informs that the [Foreign Office] did not accept the centrifuge sent in February as it was 'too bulky and heavy' and therefore had to be sent through shipping agents. Includes Bruce's reply stating that Greig has most likely not received the one sent to him in February and remarks it is a pity it could not go through the [Foreign Office]. Requests Harrison to ask the [Foreign Office] 'to sire to him - centrfuge sent through shipping agens 10th February'.
Enclosed is a letter from the Superintendent of African Protectorates, to the Secreatry of the Royal Society, dated 24 March 1904, referring to a telegram sent from Captain Greig, and includes the telegram 'Send another centrifuge first mail by Foreign Office bag'. |
