Description'Sir:- I am directed by the Marquess of Lansdowne to state for the information of the Royal Society, that the administration of the East Africa, Uganda and Somaliland Protectorates will be transferred, as from the 1st proximo, to the Secretary of State for the Colonies. All coomunication relating to those Protectorates should, therefore, be addressed to the Colonial Office on and from the date mentioned. I am, Sir, Your most obedient, humble Servant, Clement L Hill'.
