Enclosed is a copy of a typescript letter from Francis Bertie, Paris, to the Marquess of Lansdowne, dated 3 May 1905, referring to expeditions to be sent out by the Royal Society 'under the direction' of the Society and Royal Astronomical Society, to observe the eclipse.
Enclosed is a copy of a transcript letter from Delcasse, Paris, to Sir Francis Bertie, dated 28 April 1905, in French, in which he assures Bertie that the 'mission' will not be disturbed by the members of the public while they are making their obervations in Algeria.
Enclosed is a copy of a typescript letter from Lord Cromer, Cairo, to Marquess Lansdowne, dated 22 April 1905, regarding the request to obtain fro the Egyptian government 'facilities for expeditions'.
Enclosed is a copy of a typescript letter from [Francis Hyde] Villiers, Foreign Office, to the Secretary of the Royal Society, dated 18 May 1905, informing that a note has been received from the Austro=Hungaria Ambassador 'stating that Dr August v. Bohm' will attend the International Congress concerning [the total eclipse].
Enclosed is a copy of a typescript letter from [Francis Hyde] Villiers, Foreign Office, to the Secretaries of the Royal Society, dated 6 November 1905, informs that the thanks of the Royal Society have been conveyed to the governments of Paris, Madrid and Cairo for their assistance in the solar eclipse expedition.
Enclosed is a handwritten letter from [?], Foreign Office, to the Secretaries of the Royal Society, dated 6 December 1905, referring to the nobel peace proze, for 1906.
