DescriptionForwarding a copy of a letter from the Hudson's Bay Company, dated 6 March 1848, to Trevelyan, as well as a copy of its enclosure relating to an account for supplies for Captain Lefroy's magnetic survey of North America. Trevelyan reports the Lords of the Treasury are willing to recommend to Parliament a grant of £1,000 as the public's contribution to the expense.

[The enclosure is present and covers both HBC's letter and the account referenced. It is over three papers and has a total extent of 10p. These papers are labelled within the volume as MC/4/227a-MC/4/227c.]
