TitleLetter from George Grove, Secretary of the Society of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce, Adelphi, to the [Earl of Rosse] President of the Royal Society and to the Council
Date30 March 1852
DescriptionIn response to [Charles Richard Weld]'s request to name members of the Society of Arts who are engaged in scientific pursuits so as to place them on a list of recipients for duty-free books from abroad. Grove clarifies the difficulty of extracting a list from their entire membership and instead relays the Council of the Society of Arts' wish to increase the transmission of foreign literature as a whole, possibly in collaboration with the Royal Society.
