Description ' There is a letter from the National Book Council which I think you should see.

Perhaps a l etter will need to be written to Sir JohnSimon, asking that scientific literature so necessary for the advance of knowledge and research, shiould not be subject to tax.

We shall be meeting at 1 o'clock for luncheon at the Royal Society on Monday and I wil try and find out before then from the Secretaty of the National Book Council how they propose to act. '
