Description ' I am directed by Viscount Halifax to inform you that His Majesty's Ambassador at Washington has received a communication from Mr Harold C Urey, President of the Second international Congress of Pure and Applied Science, requesting that you may be informed that the Congress has been postponed.

2. In his letter, Mr Urey states that you had been invited to speak at the Congress, and that he has already notified you of the postponement of the Congress in a letter sent by air mail. '
