TitleCopy letter from Sir Willilam Bragg PRS to Dr C H Desch FRS, Iron and Steel Institute, 4 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1
Date12 December 1940
Description ' Wartime duties are creating inevitable vacancies at certain meetings of our Council, and in particular H J Gough is likely to finid, as this morning, that he cannot attend a particular Council meeting.

The Council has given me power as President to invite other Fellows to such casual vacancies as the need arises. Would you do us the kindness and allow me to tell the Secretaries that at meetings when Gough is unable to be present you will be willing to be asked to attend in his place. I hope that you will be able to give us this help.

A list is enclosed of the accepted dates for the meetings of Council next year, and for the present at least meetings are likely to be held about 11 o'clock, and not as formerly int he afternoon. '
