DescriptionEncloses a letter soliciting aid for Austrian scientists. Enclosure appeals for help with extremely desperate food shortages in Austria, gives the example of Professor Heinrich von Ficker, University of Vienna who has lost 62 pounds. Socher's colleague Professor Viktor Oberguggenberger in Innsbruck, writes that he is only skin and bones but he was one of the heaviest scientists Socher knew.

Swiss and other Caritative Societies offer to send food parcels but neither the Austrians not Socher in England are able to make the necessary payments.

Suggests monthly food parcels to accredited Austrian scientists and scholars.
