TitleLetter from Henry George Lyons to Mr Hill, The Old Cottage, Shackleford nr Godalming
Date9 January 1940
DescriptionLyons has a good supply of items for the October 'Notes and Records' and thinks there should be an account of the emergency arrangements in place since August which Davies could draft and it should be passed by the Secretaries. Is working on an article on the Executive Officers of the R[oyal] S[ociety] from 1662-1862, concerning what they did for the Society, not their whole biographies. Believes some Presidents highly praised by [Charles Richard] Weld did little. On the whole Secretaries have never had the credit they deserved. Is glad to be returning to London on 25 January.
