TitleCopy letter from John David Griffith Davies to Sir Henry George Lyons, Winforton, Herefordshire
Date19 November 1940
DescriptionIs glad Lyons and Lady Lyons are well. Thinks Lyons has made 'amazing progress' with the history of the [Royal] Society. The man in the Records Office who was interested in their affairs has joined the army and Davies has not had an opportunity since he went away to discover the source of [Charles Richard] Weld's translations of the charters. Will send complete set of 'Notes and Records' when desired. Is busier than ever in addition to routine office work has to supervise the welfare of three platoons of Home Guard. Dicusses a recent realistic tactical exercise they undertook.
