Description | Having settled at Cambridge the routine work of the [Royal] Society can proceed normally. Lists staff present in Cambridge. Has terminated two temporary female clerks and employed Miss Kaye to work on the Central Register. [Ronald] Winckworth, whose wife recently died, returns on Monday. Proposes changes to domestic and office staffing now that Burlington House is closed, and associated pay changes. The two Secretaries and Foreign Secretary have agreed that at the next Council meeting 19 October, they propose submitting a resolution securing the Society's employees against financial loss owing to their having undertaken full-time paid national service. Hopes April 'Notes and Records' has been received. |
