TitleCopy letter from John David Griffith Davies to Sir Henry George Lyons, [Royal Society, Trinity College Cambridge]
Date22 September 1939
DescriptionEncloses a short notice by Chaplain of St George's Church, Lisbon concerning John Williamson FRS [not attached], which could be written up for 'Notes and Records'. Davies is working on a note concerning the Society's involvement in the compilation of the Central Register, and will send this to Professor [Archibald Vivian] Hill for vetting. Lyons can then see if it is suitable for 'Notes and Records'. Wonders if it would be practicable for the Society to pay monthly salaries in advance from 1 October as many staff are finding the current situation financially difficult. Male members of staff are kept reasonably fit by strenuous excercise with the [Trinity] college fire brigade.
