TitleDraft letter from Sir Henry George Lyons to the General Secretary, International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics, The Royal Society
Date7 October 1939
DescriptionHas received a letter from Professor Frederick John Marrian Stratton, enclosing a draft letter for which his correspondent seeks the Royal Society to obtain Treasury approval. Treasury at present has no knowledge of the procedures under which sums are paid to the International Unions by the adhering countries. Lyons therefore asks for: the financial statement adopted by the Union at the General Assembly; banks statements for the Union; a copy of the statutes now in force; a copy of the last periodical report to show the scope of the Unions work. Request for approval can then be transmitted to the Treasury by the Council.
