Title | Letter from William Mitchinson Hicks, Dunheyed, Endcliffe Crescent, Sheffield, to Sir William [Huggins] |
Date | 17 October 1904 |
Description | Sorby has discussed with him the general outlines of the scheme he had in mind, but Hicks does not want to speak about the details until he has Sorby's permission. He will try to see Sorby tomorrow, without letting him know that Huggins has written, and will then write more fully. Hicks expects that Sorby will show the letter that he had written to Huggins. No-one could come to Sheffield for research at present. After next July it will be different, with physics, chemistry, physiology, engineering and metallurgy and he hoped to have exceptional facilities. The new building for the university will be opened then. |
