TitleLetter from James Frederic Danielli, Kew, to 'Dear Zeus'
Date19 September 1932
DescriptionRequests feedback on the first two chapters of his book. Refers to an article on 'Intellectuals and Communism' by Rajani Palme Dutt in the Communist Review and criticises its content. Notes the enormous sales of the books of Jeans and Eddington and therefore an immense field for propaganda that is being ignored by the Centre. The British working class is notorious for its ideological weakness and the Party appears to want to carry on in 'this block-headed tradition'. Those in intellecrtual occupations are either Marxists or reactionaries, Danialli believes, explining his reasoning and its consequences. He wonders why the Centre cannot read its own resolutions, ending ''O Zeus, we shall get ourselves expelled'.
