Title | Letter from Richard Laurence Millington Synge, Lister Institute of Preventative Medicine, Chelsea Bridge Road, London SW1, to Dr Birger Drake |
Date | 30 August 1947 |
Description | Gives his apologises for taking so long to answer Drake's letter, he had been very pressed with other matters. He is sorry not to be able to put him up while he is in London - their spare bedroom is the nursery and must be kept free for his mother-in-law. However, they look forward to having him to their house for a meal and perhaps some weekend outing to the country. There would be no chance of College accommodation as term will have started, but a room has been reserved for him at the Royal Hotel at Upper Woburn Place. Synge gives details of his movements, hoping to be back in London on 22 September. Drake should come after. Rydon will be leaving for an appointment at Birkbeck College. Suggests that Drake should prepare some silica gel suitable for partition chromatogrphy of acetylaminoacids they could make a kg or two. Synge will be very glad indeed to see Hagdahl's manuscirpt. L.K.B. have not sent off the interferometer yet, and he is beginning to get doubtful if it will ever come. |
