DescriptionDiscussion of some of the instruments to be employed in the magnetic observatories together with their costs. There is a shortage of Transits with azimuth circles. The Royal Society has none, the Astronomical Society does not have an appropriate one and the Admiralty have given theirs to [James Clark] Ross for his Antarctic expedition. Further discussion of the estimate of the cost of the magnetic scheme.
