Description | Ballot is sending Sabine meteorological annals of 1853 and 1854. Ballot draws Sabine’s attention to the observations at Paramaribo regarding the tables of departure from the mean state of the barometer and from the average temperature. For the year 1855 Ballot’s observations have extended to Christiania and Parma. Discussion of observations made at sea. Ballot has received several journals of merchant ships, the Royal Navy, and the crossing between the ‘Channel’ to Batavia [colonial name of the capital of the Dutch East Indies, now Jakarta, Indonesia], from nearly 300 ships communicated to Washington. |
