Ronalds describes having an idea in 1824 to have ‘three pairs of legs, jointed together at the bottom, to support a sketching table’, ‘drawings of a perspective instrument’ consisting of ‘three pairs of legs jointed below’ in March 1825. Refers to devising a tripod, and its sale to Mr Cary, Captain [Henry] Kater and Mr Wollaston. Includes a drawing of three sticks joined together to form a triangle. |
