Description | Stewart is ‘glad’ to hear [Sabine] likes their paper on pendulums. Stewart informs Sabine he thinks they are unable to ‘go on with Professor [George Gabriel] Stokes experiments at Kew’. Mr [Benjamin] Loewy now lives in London and is a private tutor. Stewart will send the absolute determinations and intends to follow Sabine’s ‘excellent system of magnetic reductions’. Asks Sabine for monthly declination disturbances. Mr [Charles] Meldrum informs there is to be another Meteorological Committee under [Edme Hippolyte] Marié-Davy. |
