Description | She writes on behalf of her husband, to say that the reproduction from the daguerreotype is to be ready on Tuesday and will be sent to St. John's College Cambridge. She hopes it will be successful. She is sorry that the other photographs were not sent, forgetting that one was at Largs and the other here. They are taking down two today, taken in 1874, and they will be sent with the one made by Dickenson of Bond Street, the last photograph of Lord Kelvin. Some fine enlargements of Lord Kelvin have been made for Silvanus Thompson's lecture on Thursday, and her husband thinks he may wish to leave these also at the Royal Institution. The photographs which will reach Larmor on Monday are the ones he arranged for while he was there and the Bottomleys did not know there was any hurry for them. The two photographs by Fergus of Largs can now be reproduced by Stewart of Largs, who has the negatives. |
