Bumstead was pleased that Larmor speaks so highly of Page, who is earnest, able and industrious. His fault is a certain kind of intolerance which is inseparable from an interest in relativity. Bumstead asks if Larmor would like to dine at the American Officers' Club, or perhaps have lunch if he cannot get away from the House of Commons. He hopes to attend the Royal Society's meeting on Thursday afternoon, at Schuster's invitation, although he may have to leave that evening for Portland, to view some experiments. |
