DescriptionTwo reports by Willmore, the first commissioned by the Colonial Office, and occasioned by a series of earthquakes in the vicinity of St. Kitts-Nevis. The first report recommends the appointment of an observer, provided with instruments, with objective of providing warnings of occasional major eruptions of volcanoes in as economical a way as possible. The second report envisages an expanded and permanent volcanological service at eight observing stations and contains an estimate of expenses. With some subsequent correspondence on the distribution of the final report.
